Japan takes conventions, throws them out of the window and makes something 10 times more awesome than the original.
Pizza is no exception. Often with mayo as a topping, eaten with chopsticks or with prawns in the crust – Japan just breaks all the rules.
By far the best Japanese pizza experiment is dessert pizza.
A sweetened dough covered in fruit coulis and cream topped with scoops of ice cream and powdered sugar.
You’ll occasionally find this served at italian restaurants… it’s worth it if you can find it!
