#049 Naoshima Art Island

A small island in the Seto Inland Sea is a surreal home to art museums and installations.


One of the first things you see once you get off the ferry

It features many art museums – like Chichu, Benesse House, Lee Ufan museum and various art house projects. The attractions also include an obscure James Bond museum, a cat cafe and  an arty bath house.


There are lots of outdoor art pieces to see too

One of the biggest attractions are the giant pumpkins by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama:
