Pretty much everywhere in Japan is famous for some type of ramen… but hear me out.
Sapporo has a small ‘ramen street’ with many restaurants inside. Miso ramen originated from Hokkaido – it is a soup made from lots of miso paste and oily chicken or fish broth. Sapporo ramen is a delicacy with a miso base, often with butter and corn.
Why is this so awesome? Well, Sapporo invented this hearty, rich ramen to counter the harsh winters full of snow and icicles.
It definitely works!
