Line is a phone application phenomenon created by NHN Japan but now has over 140 million users worldwide.


It is an online messaging service – free messages, calls and more to your contacts.

It was developed after the Tohoku earthquake as a way to keep in contact when traditional means of communication like telephone networks were damaged

The application itself is free as well – so how do they make money to support their millions of users?
