#108 Hanami

‘Hanami’ literally translates as flower watching.

And, in a sense… it is.

But with more beer

cherry blossom festivalsWhen the cherry blossoms start to bloom… people take to the parks in droves to sit  under the trees, chat, drink and eat.

You’ll often find entertainment, food stalls and making friends is a big part of ‘hanami’.

And the party continues into the night…

…even when you can’t see the blossoms well (because it’s dark, but also you’ve been drinking since 11am)
