#131 Scattered Sushi

Sushi rolls have gained worldwide fame.

A less famous, but equally delicious form of sushi is not in a roll….

chirashizushi

it’s scattered:
Chirashi Zushi (ちらし寿司)

This sushi is made of the vinegar-ed sushi rice, covered in toppings like egg, vegetables, fish or tofu.

It’s sushi’s hippy cousin – it has no set form and just goes with the flow.

It is also a traditional food – especially for the Hina Matsuri:
