#134 Monjayaki

This is okonomiyaki’s liquid-cousin.

It is almost the same mixture as okonomiyaki – flour, eggs, cabbage and your choice of toppings… but just with more liquid.

It is cooked on a hot-plate in your table and is mixed on the heat.

You cook the ingredients and make a circle, then add the liquid to the centre… then mix.

It never quite solidifies to the crisp texture of okonomiyaki…

It is eaten in it’s molten-mess-form directly from the hot-plate. You can top it with okonomiyaki sauce, nori and bonito flakes.

Perfect if you’re having teeth-troubles and want okonomiyaki without the chewing.
