#149 Senso-Ji

This temple in Asakusa, Tokyo is amazing.


It’s Japan’s oldest temple built in 645CE.

It’s always packed with Japanese and foreign tourists alike:


There are loads of gift-shops and tacky souvenirs to buy… but that doesn’t take away from the awe of this temple.


It has an adjacent shrine… and a pretty impressive pavilion:


If you’re feeling spiritual you can burn some incense… but just remember everyone else is too. So, there’s a lot of smoke:
