#156 Yayoi Kusama

Eccentric elderly Japanese ladies rock… especially ones that are world famous artists.

Ms. Kusama hails from Nagano in Japan and has since seen her work exhibited throughout all of Japan, Asia, America, the UK and more.

Her iconic designs have been featured in exhibitions, art installations and even fashion products – she has her own fashion business but has done collaborations with the likes of Luis Vuitton.

In 2012 Selfridges in London did a collaboration with her – selling her Luis Vuitton products and making a pop-up art installation of the store.

Naoshima Art Island in Japan features her work prominently in the form of two giant pumpkins with the classic dot pattern she is famous for.
