A kumade is a rake used to sweep leaves.

These rakes are used more as ornate decorations, called Kazari Kumade.

They are often hand-made in temples and sold to “rake in” health, wealth, fortune etc.

You can get your own at Torinoichi / Rooster festivals held across Japan.

In Tokyo, a Torinoichi festival is held in Asakusa in November.
