Japan’s punctual trains are legendary.
But it isn’t just trains, pretty much every service in Japan runs on time.
Like organising your delivery from Ikea or Amazon to be delivered between 12 and 2pm… and it actually comes at 12:30.
And if they are behind they’ll often give you some form of compensation… like coupons.
Also, there are “time sales” where between certain time frames things are cheaper.
Usually this is done at fashion stores and so on.
But even supermarkets lower their prices on fresh food nearing at a certain time at night.
Also people take punctuality seriously in their own lives and meetings at work and meet-ups with friends are on time, more often than not.
