#298 Shinjuku Gyoen

Shinjuku gyoen/ 新宿御苑 is also known as Shinjuku National Gardens.


It has three main areas – a Japanese garden, a French formal garden and an English traditional garden.

The highlight is the Taiwanese-style temple:


And it is always overlooked by the NTT Docomo tower.


From 2012, they opened a greenhouse where you can see loads of tropical plants.


Pro tip: It’s open from 9:30am and an awesome place to warm up during the winter chill. It also has the only indoor toilets in the gardens.
