#306 Gion Matsuri

One of the biggest festivals in Japan held in Kyoto.

It’s held throughout the entire month of July.

The streets are lined with food stalls and shrine decorations.

There are many different events and the celebration is often in the evening.

The Yamaboko Junko is a procession of floats on July 17th and is the highlight of the festival.

This festival has been running for over 1000 years and is a must-see for ‘traditional Japan’ enthusiasts.
