Dance Dance Revolution/ダンスダンスレボリューション (sometimes shortened to DDR) is a common site in arcades and game centers.

It started in 1998 in Japan and was seen in Europe and America shortly after.

ddr2

It involves watching a screen of arrows and dancing to catchy pop tunes by hitting your feet on the corresponding arrow when it appears.

ddr1

It was developed by Konami.

It has spawned many spin off games – on home consoles as well as updated arcade machines.
