#431 Meguro River

Tokyoites are always searching for a breath of nature in their hectic lives.

The river in Meguro is one of these places.

The 7.82km river runs through Setagaya, Meguro and Shinagawa wards of Tokyo.

It is lined with cherry blossom trees so it’s a popular spot for hanami parties.

They also have loads of tasty food stalls and alcoholic drinks during the cherry blossom season.

Night illuminations of the blossoming flowers ensure the place is packed from morning to night.

If you’re in Tokyo during the cherry blossom season it’s a unique atmosphere to experience, but of course, crowded.

Most easily accessed from Naka-Meguro subway station, you can also walk from Meguro or Ebisu stations on the Yamanote line.
