Aeon is a large company in Japan and the largest retailer in Asia.
It’s written as イオン/ion in Japanese (pronounced like ee – on ).
It was founded originally in 1758 as a company called Shinoharaya.
Even in the countryside you can see large Aeon malls or smaller Aeon supermarkets.
They contain wide-varieties of stores and have their own brand products too.
The most popular Aeon mall for tourists is located 20 minutes by bus from Narita airport.
It contains over 150 different shops – including 100 yen stores and a Capcom arcade.
