Japan is an umbrella loving country.
The upside is that you’re almost never without an umbrella when you need one.
The downside is that they’re so abundant that sometimes people steal them from the umbrella racks.
Often when you enter a building or shop there are plastic bags to put your umbrella in so you can carry it with you without making puddles!
This is especially helpful during the rainy seasons full of typhoons around July and September.
There are also these stands you can shake your umbrella in to mop up the rain drops.
Just don’t hold your umbrella while cycling – there are fines for such thrill-seeking cyclists.
