#492 Tamagoyaki

卵/たまご/tamago is the Japanese word for eggs.

焼き/やき/yaki is the word for grilling/frying.

You remember yakiniku , taiyaki , monjayaki, right?
Don’t forget yakitori !

Tamagoyaki is just a delicious and you might have seen slices of it on top of your sushi.

It’s a slightly sweet rolled fried egg.

It’s made easily in a rectangular frying pan, you add the egg mix, cook it and then roll it up, add more raw egg and roll again.

It’s kind of like rolling up a snowball… except being yellow is a good thing.
And you can eat it.

As you can see in the photo above, this one is filled with cheese and eaten with grated white radish, daikon.
