#549 Kichijoji

Kichijoji is an area of Tokyo.

It’s not just any old area.

It’s the most desirable place to live – voted #1 year on year since the 2004 survey started.

Why is it the most popular place to live?

It has many of the same big shops as other big areas like Shinjuku, Harajuku or Shibuya.

It is a bit less crowded and it tends to attract young people.

It is also home to a variety of cool cafes, bars and small shops.

It’s been getting more crowded and expensive as it’s popularity booms but it’s still an interesting area of Tokyo to explore if you have a chance!

Inokashira park is located a few minutes walk from Kichijoji station.

Maybe you know the Studio Ghibli museum? That’s located in Inokashira park.

Also, there’s a zoo, pond and various cafes and sports facilities.

The zoo was home to an adored elephant, Hanako, who unfortunately passed away last week. So I’d like to dedicate this post to her.
